In Vedic Astrology, the planetary transits (called grah gochar) are important to understand the effects of planets on an individual moment. Planet Transiting means movement from one zodiac sign to another zodiac sign, and from one constellation (nakshatra) to another.

Nakshatra is the term for lunar mansion in Hindu astrology. A nakshatra is one of 27 (sometimes also 28) sectors along the ecliptic.

When Nakshatra enters or makes a connection with any zodiac sign or nakshatra, it shows some good or bad effects. If the influence is good, it brings good or positive changes in life. But negative influence gives undesired/unexpected results. So, astrologers and people more interested, alwasy keep a transit calendar that shows the transit of planets in a given individual year.

Each planet moves at its respective pace which is different from others, so its time of transit is also different from others. A planet can also be debilitation, exaltation, combust and retrograde which are indicated in the transit calendar.

All seven planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn) and two nodes (Rahu and Ketu) have different movement and time of transits on twelve zodiac signs.
